Newlands Holiday Park acts as an ideal base for families holidaying on the West Dorset Coast, with a range of scenic and state-of-the-art accommodation options available.
During the winter of 2019, Newlands Holiday Park undertook a substantial £1m redevelopment of its leisure complex, with the works adding a brand-new changing village, reception area, sauna, pool plant and gym to their already established spa, indoor and outdoor pools.
The Ground and Maintenance Manager at Newlands Holiday Park, James McCowen said: “Newlands had been looking to add a gym to its list of facilities on site for some time, with the renovation of the pool this provided the space it needed.”
The Redevelopment
Newlands Holiday Park approached Fitness Superstore to help fit out the new gym build. While limited on space, Newlands were clear that the gym was to house all the equipment that users would need for a comprehensive workout.
“Our gym is mainly served by our guests staying on site and those in the local village. Although it is small, it offers everything one would need from the regulars to the nevers. The equipment we chose had two main criteria, to be safe to use, without instruction, and to be able to be used many ways, due to the small nature of our gym area.”
Cardio-wise, Newlands opted for a Spirit XT685 ENT Treadmill, a Concept2 BikeErg and a FluidRower Apollo Pro XL Full Commercial Fluid Rowing Machine. To cater to strength fans, they chose the Life Fitness G7 Cable Motion Gym, the Body-Solid Series 7 Linear Bearing Smith Machine, a selection of Body Power Urethane Olympic Weight Plates and a Rubber Hex Dumbbell Set.
